FAQ

Does Your Child Need TBF?

Do you do more than dribble and layups at the clinics??

Why are TBF practices so different than any other practice I have seen??

Why do your kids handle the ball so much in practice??

We most definitely teach other aspects of offense, and of course we teach defense. But what TBF has found, is that the best thing for a kid is to put the ball in his/her hands(in practice) and to make sure they can finish around the basket. If your son/daughter wants to play this game past recreational basketball. He/she will probably be a guard and he/she will need guard ball handling and decision making skills. Exceptional ball handling and decision making only come with dribbling the ball under pressure and developing his instincts(in practice) under pressure. Being able to dribble under pressure, relieve pressure and make a good decision is priceless on a competitive basketball court. Most kids will immediately turn the ball over under pressure, no matter how weak the pressure.

TBF is teaching much more then dribbling and layups. We are developing instincts, ball handling. TBF clinics will increase your childs understanding of how to create a shot for himself or a teammate. All of this is being developed and honed as he/she is dribbling and making layups. Him understanding offense and creating space(space-how to get away from a defender ). TBF is run under the philosophy of Mental Consistency, Muscle Confusion, Teach the same Concepts a million different ways, until you reach each kid in your program. Nothing New. But we find a different drill to reinforce the same idea. When you see us dribbling in practice we may be working on decision making, ball handling may or may not be the key concept.
